This class is suitable for beginning to intermediate students. We will concentrate on the basics of wheel throwing from centering, opening, and shaping of a pot. With initial focus on understanding the basics of making the foundational shape of cylinders. Once you have achieved those, the world of clay opens!

Students will work at their own pace and level, to learn the skills of the life cycle of a pot from wedging clay, trimming, glazing and finishing. Individuals with be helped at their own level of skill, with group or individual demonstrations as required. We want to encourage learning, experimenting and technique improvement.

What do I need to bring?

• Wear old clothes or an apron.
• Closed toe shoes, NO SANDALS for safety.
• Light plastic to cover your pieces.
• Pottery tools if you have them, but we have plenty to borrow if you don't!
• Bring a friend, and have some fun.

Class includes 25lbs clay.  Students may use any of the clay types but  some clay bodies have an upcharge. Please pick up clay during the session. Clay may not be "banked" for future pick up. Please write your name on your clay and keep it on your student shelf. Any unopened clay not used during the session must be stored at home. 

Classes may be cancelled at short notice if the minimum attendance is not achieved. Your money will be refunded should this happen.
