Introduction to Watercolor Painting Workshop 2026
with Beth Bale
This workshop is for anyone wishing to explore the possibilities of watercolor painting and learn some of what this terrific medium has to offer. Beth is a patient and fun teacher who will guide the class and learning some of the specifics and basic techniques unique to watercolor and then creating a painting of their own in the last part of the class.
The basic materials of paint, paper, brushes, and palette will be provided for your use in class. You will, however, need to bring your own paper towels, pencil and eraser, containers for rinse water, a board to tape your paper onto and masking tape.
There is no experience necessary for this class, but it is also appropriate for those wanting a refresher course after not painting for years. The class has a limit of 12 students so that each person can receive the time and attention that they need in class.
Any students who decide they like watercolor painting and wish to further their experience with it would then have time to sign up for the upcoming series of beginner watercolor painting classes with Beth.
About the instructor: Beth has been painting in watercolor for over 30 years. She is passionate about teaching watercolor painting and has been doing so for the past 10 years. She is a signature member of the watercolor society of North Carolina and her work is shown in galleries throughout the region. See her work on social media as Beth Bale Fine Art or her website at www.bethbale.com.

These classes are for people who want to learn watercolor techniques and become more confident in their use of this amazing artistic medium. No experience is necessary. Students will be taught specific watercolor techniques each class and Beth will do demonstrations of these techniques. Students will create a painting each class as she guides the class in the painting for the day. The classes will focus on animals, landscapes, and more (with input from the students who sign up).
